Whimsy Inspiration Challenge #28

Hi Everyone!!
Our March Digital Release Blog Hop will be coming up tomorrow... But for today we have another great Whimsy Inspiration Challenge for you! Our theme this week is "Paper Piecing!"

You don't have to use a Whimsy image, but it would be great if you did! And it doesn't have to be a card - we welcome all paper projects. Don't forget to check out the challenge details - and your chance to be a Guest Designer with us - over at the Whimsy Inspirations Challenge Blog!

I really love paper-piecing, and how it opens up a whole range of patterns and textures to play with! Sure, all that fussy-cutting can be tricky... but it's so worth it for a special card. For this challenge I decided to 'merge' two of Crissy Armstrong's fab images - the sweet "Heartfelt Angel" with "Meadow Background". The sentiment is from the Raindrop Echo set "Spring Sentiments" - and all these goodies can be found at the fabulous Whimsy Stamps Store.
I used some Sweet Shoppe Digi papers and followed the current Sketchy Colours #106. There are lots of firsts on this card for me - my first real go at 'proper' grass, hair, and sky. Stretching myself all the time, and I figure I can't learn if I don't try! ;)

Hope you like my card!

And another angle which shows the dimension...

I can let you in on a little snippet though - there is now going to be a NEW RELEASE every month! (and to find out how you can WIN the ENTIRE new release you'll have to visit the link above!)

So for my final Heart Song card I have used Leah's brand new February Release,  "Tweet Love" - isn't it adorable? You can find it and all the New Releases at the Heart Song Designs store!

It's coloured with Copics, and mounted on my new MFT Die-namics Dizzy Doily. The papers are from the Echo Park 'Happy Days' 6x6, arranged to the current Totally Papercrafts sketch.

Sundays with Crissy Challenge #26--Happy Birthday!

Hi Everyone!
Welcome to a brand new challenge at "Sundays with Crissy"!! Our theme for February is... "Birthdays!"
Every single month I get excited by Crissy's new release images - I always love them! So of course I can rarely resist the chance to use them as soon as possible ;) I've already used 2 of her February Digital Releases - and it's only the 5th LOL!

This image is the Brand New "Bunny Doll" by Crissy Armstrong, and is available from Whimsy Stamps. I followed the Papertake Weekly Sketch #64, and the cute papers are from My Mind's Eye - Lime Twist "Life of the Party" 6x6 pad. I double mounted the bunny to make him stand out, and the birthday sentiment is computer generated.
I thought that because this bunny looks so laid back, that instead of "Happy Birthday" the more Aussie toast of "Cheers Big Ears" was appropriate. Mind you an Aussie Bunny would probably be lyin' back there with a Stubbie and a snag from the barbie instead of a flower! (hehehe!)

Hope you like my card!

And to show the popped up bunny...

(You can see another of Crissy's February new release digis in the post below, featuring "Spring Lamb" - also available at Whimsy Stamps.)

So now it's your turn... Make your way back over to the Sundays with Crissy blog and play along too - I can't wait to see your "Birthday" creations! You can enter at Sarah's Post - Here!

I'm sharing this card in the following challenge;

Although my team is not hopping today, I do have a card to share using one of the new images!

And a little closer...

Isn't this the cutest lamb ever? I followed the Critter Sketch for this week, and used some cute Echo Park 'Happy Days' papers. The Sentiment is another of the new releases - it comes with LiaStampz "Balloon Love".

Whimsy Inspiration Challenge #24

Hi Everyone!!
Our February Digital Release Blog Hop will be coming up in just a few hours... But for now we are back with another great Whimsy Inspiration Challenge! Our theme this week is "Make Your Own Flowers!"

You don't have to use a Whimsy image, but it would be great if you did! And it doesn't have to be a card - we welcome all paper projects. Don't forget to check out the challenge details - and your chance to be a Guest Designer with us - over at the Whimsy Inspirations Challenge Blog!

You know I've never made my own flowers before? So this was a fun one for me to try something different! I used the Shape EZ Poinsettia  templates from Whimsy Stamps, which made it really easy. I had some embossed card offcuts, cut them to the templates, curled them a little to give them some shape and added a pearl to the centre. Easy!

This image is the sweet "Christmas Smoochie Bears" from "StampArt Design" by Kathy Kittmer, found at the Whimsy Stamps Store. So cute!

Hope you like my card!

And another angle which shows the dimension...
